Now, the next tag light, I stole for my wife and I know where she stole it from but knowledge is power. We are giving you the the knowledge and the power. Are the transfers of information? That you may have it knowing what is coming ahead. Praise the Lord. You see all preparation last week for Thanksgiving time, the Thanksgiving feast. Filling the house with all that, delicious food and all the delicious treats. And of course, if you're not a baker, you can burn those apple cinnamon candles and do those pine scented candles in a house with your Rome of the holidays.

the tree will be up soon and all the presents with a pretty bows in the finally, wrapping paper will be carefully placed under the tree until that's thankful day. And then I tell you in a Flash.

all that's left is the turkey carcass. All the people have traveled home. And now that the house is empty. And then in trailing days after that, faithful thankful morning. The tree looks a little bear. All the prettiness, all the stuff that we've been investing. Our time preparing for the coming weeks is, is now empty and Bear. The excitement of Christmas and Thanksgiving as start to trickle past us and life is going back to normal.

And then it happens. That post-thanksgiving in that post-christmas Blues. It's kind of aloe. A depression that sinks into some of us people of all, after all the hoopla of the holidays. Something to put her mind on a focus on. It is all starts to fade a little bit.

but I think, but I think about what it was like for Mary and Joseph.

Will spend the next few weeks building up and in our message is promoting the birth of Christ.

But we seldom hear. Sermon about what happened after Christmas. You know, people don't consider Joseph to be a very important character.

A very important character in the story. The Christmas Story. The Bible doesn't record anything that Joseph said. Is usually ignored, the emphasis is always on Jesus. Mary and the Shepherds and wise men will this morning? We're going to talk about Joseph.

Coming from Matthew 2:13, and then they departed, behold, an angel of the Lord appeared to Joseph and the dream. Saying arise. Take the young child and his mother and flee into Egypt, and be thou there, until I bring the word for Harris will seek the young child to destroy him. So, the wise men visited Mary and Joseph and presented them with their gifts.

And while an angel appeared to Mary and told her the forthcoming pregnancy, got always spoke to Joseph in a dream. Joseph was probably a lot older than Mary. Maybe like a lot of us took a lot of naps. Anyway, the angel tells Joseph of a dream to flee to Egypt because Herod was going to try to kill Jesus. There's a couple things I want you to point. I don't know if today is not going to be one of those fiery stand-up messages. It's going to be a story with building up our preparation for the birth of Christ. What you got to know? Knowledge is power. Three things. I want you to take, note, Joseph's obedience. God's provision there is anger and God's plan. The man. Joseph's obedience. Matthew 214. And when he arose, he took the young child and his mother by night and departed into Egypt, is he Joseph anytime?

Think about what this meant for Joseph. Did Mary travel travel? From Nazareth to Bethlehem, expecting to stay only a few days. And then return back home. They hadn't planned on moving. Their family was back in that has arisen. They hadn't said they're solid goodbyes. I didn't bring up a wagon full of their goods and their home and their furnishings and Joseph schools. He was, and he probably had a shop. He was leaving everything behind. And in the middle of the night, God said move. Josephine, are you didn't ask God for Plan B. He didn't wait to try to figure it all out. He just obeyed. I think that's why God chose Joseph.

He knew his heart. Sensitive to God's will. Number to God's provision. Matthew 2:11. And when they come into the house, they saw the young child, would marry his mother and fell down and worshipped him. And when they had open up their Treasures, they presented gold and frankincense. And myrrh. Now, I'm here to tell you when God calls, he provides. He wouldn't have told Joseph and Mary to go to each other and then said, you're on your own.

Men was exceedingly, rough and sent forth, and slew all the children that were in Bethlehem, it all of the coast from 2 years old and younger. According to the time when she had it until you inquired of the wise men. Talk about post-christmas Blues.

This was absolutely, this is absolutely appalling. This is not cold in the Christmas story. We leave this part out Mary and Joseph and baby Jesus for the ride. Please leave the country dead babies. Left behind. It's not part of the holiday Christmas picture is it? See her, it was a mean. Man. Was a vicious man. History says, a lot of bad things about his son is he pigs were protected? by law, parrots family wasn't King Herod that already killed two of his own son. He had them strangle. He killed one of his 10 wide. His favorite wife is he thought she was cheating on if what she wasn't? He killed his eighteen-year-old brother-in-law because the Jews like them better than him.

He was also killed his grandfather and a 80 year old Uncle who had once saved his life. How's that for repayments? He also killed his own uncle in mother-in-law.

He was a wicked wicked, man.

But now I want to talk about God's plan. Matthew 2:15, and there was and there until the death of Herod. It might be fulfilled which was spoken of the Lord by a prophet saying out of Egypt. Have I called my son? It was God's plan of the law. Jose, 11-1, when Israel was a child and I loved him and I called out of Egypt or Jesus to come out of fifteen hundred years before under Moses. Marion. Barry Joseph wouldn't be alone in Egypt at that time. But that time there was two thousand of Jews who had fled there in the find safety.

Safety from the wicked King Herod. There was Jewish settlements. There was Jewish synagogues, and there was a temple. And the land that once Enslaved the Jews. Got used to protect the juice.

Matthew 219 goes, but when Herod was dead, behold, an angel of the Lord appears in the dream to Joseph in Egypt.

Any angel speaks to him once again? Singer, I take the young child, his mother and go to the land of Israel for. They are dead switch salty, young child's life. Everything has a progression. Knowledge is power.

And there we go, Mary and Joseph on the road again. Matthew 221 says, I need a rose and he took the young child and his mother. They came into the land of Israel. No questions. No arguing. No problem. It's time to go back home.

Is he God protected them? Now, they're going back to Israel.

God didn't want his son. Jesus to be brought up in Egypt. See. You didn't want his son to be raised up in that Heathen environment. Another dream Joseph hurts that had Sons I can last. Was now on the throne. And eyeglass was worse than his father. Listen, there was a riot in Jerusalem in Ocala, is stopped it by killing everybody in the crowd. Another Wicked, Man. And he went to the temple on one, Passover and executed 3000 to his people. Finally Rome had enough of this guy and they banished him to what is now France, where he died in Exile. Matthew 2:23 says that he came and he dwelt in the city called Nazareth. It might be fulfilled which was spoken by the prophets and he shall be called a Nazarene.

I hope your father went along with me here. Now. Now Mary and Joseph when they got the gym where I can last.

So being worn by God in the dream, they headed north as fast as they could to Nazareth.

That was happening in this Christmas Story.

This will fill the Prophecies of the Old Testament and Isaiah 11:1. And 53, two and three Nazareth was a small town. It was famous for being in famous. No one ever heard of Nazareth. Come on now.

It wasn't mentioned in the Old Testament.

But not far from Nazareth was a major city work where all the highways the North and South Highway and East and West highways cross. It was so insignificant that John 146 Nathaniel said today anything good come out of Nazareth.

You know, there's something special about an insignificant little town. Come on now.

That's what God wanted. His son raised. You should feel blessed that God has put you here.

Cuz that's what he did for his son. There's something special about insignificant little towns in there. God wanted his son to be raised in a place that was outside the politics outside and prosperity. Outside of the notoriety, you wanted son to be raised in the simple Village. Without staying without prestige.

Look at where this church is.

You see there's a lot of Gentiles in that area. Look at this area. And God wanted Jesus to be raised in that environment.

soon, as I wrap this up, what can we learn from all of this people? I got three things for you. Then I'm done. The safest place to be is where God leads you.

I said the safest place to be, is where God's leaves you. The Wise Men, followed the star in the legend to the Christ child. The wise men, follow God's instructions in a dream.

Joseph follow the Angels instructions in a dream. Escape to Egypt. Joseph, follow the instructions in a dream.

Safest place you can be is at the center of God's will. Whatever path. He takes you down.

God knows where the lead.

A better path. Can you be on than the one that God leads you?

One, the safest place to be is where God leads you to. A Christian isn't exempt from trouble.

Look at the suffering that took place on that first Christmas. The wise men avoiding Wrath of Herod Mary and Joseph fleeing for their lives, multitude of innocent babies murdered at the hands of a Mad King.

This was just a baby. God's baby boy. Probably has. Why didn't God just get rid of King Herod. That would have solved the problem.

Why doesn't God just get rid of the devil?

The answer to that is he will.

After all it was it was Satan who's behind all this evil? And he's behind all the evil in this world today. But look what happened to teen Karen. He died like a dog. Look what happened to her class. God will win out in the end. In the meantime, he always gives us the strength to win every battle to win every bottle. When we follow the path, that he gives us.

Try to do it on your own. If we probably all know where that is, will end us.

Number three, I'm almost done.

God.

In charge. You could always always, always, always, always always feel safe. When you're living in, God's will. And that's not to say that bad things are going to happen to you. That's not to say rough times are not setting for you. But God is in charge. Everything that happened in this was planned.

And you could see by his hand in the Christmas story, every step of the way. God was in charge.

You see Joseph and Mary experience. The post-christmas Blues. Didn't have their baby in Bethlehem. Then he didn't live happily ever after. Like they thought their dreams were going back to Nazareth to live a quiet and peaceful life. But that was postponed for a few years. Their life was nothing like they had planned, your life may be nothing like you had plans. God may take you and pick you up and talk to you in a dream. And now you're running out the door in a different direction.

You like me change? You might find yourself here one day, then all of a sudden the dream comes to you. And your now. We're on this side of the fence, praise the Lord.

Are you fishing off the right side of the boat?

Maybe you might experience, the post-christmas blues and both post-holiday Blues. Maybe your Christmas, won't be all that. What you expected. Stay in the world.

Hold your lord and savior close to you, and you will be alright.

If all your plans and let me say that it's yours. Yours and quotations. Are your plans. Don't go the way you wanted to.

Yes, soon. Christmas will be over. And I'm giving you a 4-week head, start. Chip repair. To know the type of person you are. To know the type of people that you hang with to know your family.

And he is there for you and he was there for them.
